RENEWAL OF A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA)
BETWEEN THE FAIRFAX COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT (FCPD)
AND THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO,
FIREARMS, AND EXPLOSIVES (ATFE) (12:55 p.m.)
Supervisor Gross moved that the Board concur in the
recommendation of staff
and authorize the Chief of Police to sign the MOA between
the FCPS and the
Bureau of ATFE. Supervisor Hyland seconded the motion.
Supervisor Cook raised a question regarding whether County
police officers will
be used to fill in for furloughed Federal officers and if
there is an agreement in
place to avoid that, and discussion ensued, with input from
Captain Bruce
Ferguson, Police Department.
Supervisor Cook asked unanimous consent that the Board direct
staff to examine
the issue and report its findings to the Board. Without
objectio The question was called on the motion and it carried by
unanimous vote.

AND DRIVING
The Board deferred the
appointment of the At-Large Chairman’s Representative,
and the Hunter Mill and Sully
District Representatives.
